Either way, here is new Billtop-related music. So I guess I'm in an actual band now, and these are the two songs we've completed so far. once I get back down to school, we'll be doing a lot more (that's what I said a long time ago..), and I'll be singing some songs I wrote, collaborations, and a bunch of shit my other friend wrote, who I guess is our de-facto frontman, though it doesn't really matter. anyhow,
This one's called "Strawberry Hill," written by my friend. He does the vocals and most of the production wizardry, guitars, etc. He recorded this one mostly himself over the summer, and last time I visited I spit guitar noise all over the tail end of it. It's a bit on the cheesy side, probably, but a lot of the shit he's done instrumentally and production-wise elevates it a good bit. And it's catchy. it would probably be our lead single, I dunno. i like it a lot.
This one is called "Tommy Boy," for no other reason than when we were originally jamming where this song originated, that was a major lyrical motif. We were really high. I have a greater contribution to this one.. acoustic guitar, lots of the funny electric stuff, alarm clock, I think I might have done a track of banjo, handclaps, miscellaneous noises... anyhow, this one I really really like. was born wholly out of improvisation, which was cool. The end is really psychedelic.

I liked them both a lot. Strawberry Hill, for some reason, reminded me of Neil Young's Thrasher a few times. It is definitely catchy. I liked Tommy Boy, too. The guitar solo near the end seems to stumble a bit at first, but once it finds itself I think it's great from there on out. These are both great.
I really like "Sitting on the Grass." do you guys play any shows anywhere around here?
YES. we do open mics at Jackie O's, the Smiling Skull and the Donkey pretty frequently. Our first real live show is actually this Friday at the Donkey 'round 9-ish. BRING YOUR FRIENDS!
