I wasn't impressed by Illinois the few times I saw them this season. I picked them to win this game, but to lose to Nevada in the next round.

It's not like this is the first time a #1 seed has played shitty in the first half against a 16. The low seeds have nothing to lose and are completely at ease. I can't remember how many times I've seen a #1 seed in a close first round game at the half then blow the team out by the end.

yeah seems like a lot of #1's start sluggish, but then win like the next 3-4 games.... I have them losing in the elite 8.

it's not like i thought they would lose... i mean, they were playing in a "sea of orange" as bilas put it... homecourt against a team that has lost to the likes of wagner, st. francis (pa), st. francis (ny), monmouth, and the list goes on and on... enjoy the ride illini fan, cause it's not going to last much longer

jesus... talk about argument-city....

i recently moved from illinois down here to fayetteville, and i tell you what, the intensity of the college basketball season is without question a 100 times more heated than in illinois... going to bars and watching games down here? nothing like it!.... im so glad i live in the greatest college basketball state there is... it actually was one of the big selling points that got me to come and teach down here

Jesus, calm down. You act like Illinois lost.

What do you want me to say? Is Illinois a better team than FD? Yes. Did they deserve the No. 1 seed? Yes. Did they absolutely kill Gonzaga and your beloved ACC team Wake Forest? Yes. Are they the first No. 1 seed to struggle a bit? No.

So what's your point?

Um, gee, I don't know . . . how about one of the biggest NCAA potential upsets of all-time: Georgetown-Princeton.

C'mon, I thought you were smarter than that.

By the way, didn't N. Carolina lose to Santa Clara this year?
