Anybody ever seen this? Now I think about it, I'm surprised it wasn't drafted for the TV show tournament. It's been on my list for awhile now to watch, from all I've heard if you like mystery genre shows like "Lost" and whatnot you'll really dig this. Of course "The Simpsons" did a parody episode on this that I believe even featured Patrick McGoohan himself. But I figure it's gotta be classic, considering its entirety is a mere 17 episodes and I've always seen the thing on the shelves as being rather expensive, upwards of $60 or more. You break that down as compared to other full seasons of TV shows on a dollar per/episode basis, that's just insane.
Ian McKellen will be playing Number 6, Jim Caviezel plays Number 2. I've personally never really been a fan of Caviezel, pretty much his only film I've liked is "Frequency" and that certainly wasn't much thanks to him. To me he comes across in practically every role as lethargic, so droll and labored in his speech and overall behavior. In fact one of my worst theatre experiences was a film of his. In retrospect I realized the studio so ridiculously mis-marketed the movie "Angel Eyes" (with Jennifer Lopez) they should've been sued for fraud. They kept billing it as like the next "Sixth Sense", both for similarities to plot and tone, and a great shocker ending. And around then I was going to the multiplex for a ton of stuff all the time, so I bought the hype. This was literally one of the worst movies I've ever seen. And the "twist" was so painfully obvious, and not too far into the start of it, seriously, everyone involved in the making of this piece of rubbish should be banned from ever working in movies again.
But I digress Back to "The Prisoner", at least McKellen's involvement prompts some encouragment.

Yea not that I put much stock in critics, but I don't think I've seen a single good one yet. I'm thinking I want to try and find a DVD rip of the original online and watch that (finally) before I check out this remake.
and @ punkdavid -- I think I might've messed up when I said that earlier, McKellan is the villain, Caviezel is playing the part originated by McGoogan.

Hmm, better than Flash Forward, really? Because, again with all the negative reviews I've heard of this remake, and yet from most I've heard FF is having a fairly strong beginning so far. At most I'd decided I'd simply hold off altogether, see what some trusted friends had to say, then maybe I'd start to catch up once it was like at least 6-8 eps in. Most seems to be that it's no Lost, but it's at least worth the time. And Heroes, oye... I fell behind with starting season 3 with that on time, and the more time passed and people saying it'd completely fallen apart and outright sucks now, I never bothered to catch up and I pretty much have zero care about it anymore at all. I'm just casting it aside entirely.

i had to give up on flashforward. its watchable but you kind of have to force yourself.
