Right now I'm using winamp as my audioplayer.
I'm also using it to sync my HD-player, so I use the library function.

Could someone suggest me a lighter audio player??

I'm running on an old system, winamp works fine but maybe I'm missing out on a better player.

No Itunes or Songbird, think both use more ram than winamp.

winamp is best.

In fact, it really kicks the llama's ass.

I used winamp since I first learned what an mp3 was until about a year ago when I jumped ship to foobar2000. I love it and it might be what you're looking for. It's using ~4 MB of RAM minimized to the system tray and playing right now. Though not skin-able, the spartan foobar interface is quite customizable.

I use VLC for pretty much all my video, but I've never gotten comfortable using it for audio.
