Alright, now that the Backspacer hoopla has calmed down a bit here on the board, I've been wanting to get everyone's thoughts on this topic. I think there might be more people that rank S/T low rather than high on their PJ albums list. My question, are there any S/T songs that you don't like at all on the album, but really enjoy live?

The example for me - Comatose. I didn't care for it at all on the album, I thought it was the poster child for the "overproduction" of the album. But man, when the band blasts this out live, it's a whole different story for me. Full of energy, speed, and raw rawk. There are a few others for me, but I'd like to hear your thoughts.

Mods, I could only find a generic "studio v. live" thread from back in 2004. Merge if necessary please.

Yeah, I didn't give the time of the day to this song on the album. But then there comes San Fran 7/16/06 and I'm down on the floor melting! And this year, it got even better everytime at Seattle, Portland and finally Halloween shows....I love the lights too!

Severed Hand: don't like the album version, shitty drum sound and altogether too slow. Rocks like a beast live.

Come Back: the shitty drum sound strikes again, some live versions of this are amazing.

Inside Job. Love hearing Mike get this one going and the way it builds.

Inside Job : song makes me cringe, but I fucking adored it as an opener in Dublin.

My issue with Comatose is not to do with studio production rather than live-sounding. It's that the song has indecipherable and embarrassing lyrics for me. I get embarrassed every time I hear 'for all e.... ter.... na..... teeeeeeeee' or 'feel it rising.' That's true live or in the studio.

Not many of them are... I could have replaced 'Comatose' with a lot of other song titles. I could have chosen lines in virtually every song.

it's a top-10 PJ song for me. rest of the album aren't even top 75. Does that make me a little weird?

Marker is starting to be like my guilty pleasure in the PJ world. It totally doesn't fit in with the rest of my taste.
