only reason I'm posting this is the following amazing stat:

he faced Mickey Mantle 66 times.
he struck him out 44 times.

unbelievable.

that is an amazing stat... wonder what kind of other crazy numbers like that are out there

The Monster will be missed. I used to love listening to Radatz and Mike Adams on EEI a few years back when they did the baseball show.

when I was about 13 they had a local promotion for the New England Sports Museum... I remember Dick Radatz and how big of a man he was... I shook his hand and it swallowed my little paw ... but he was also a very nice guy

i also met bobby orr, chris nilan, dave cowens (what a dick!), killer kowalski, and other local "celebs" that day but meeting Radatz always stands out... rip
