85% on Rotten Tomatoes
Incredible camera work, memorable sets and dialogue. Herzog and Cage update the classic noir crime-drama, set in a bleak post-Katrina New Orleans, with psychopathic glee and a touch of the mystical. Cage in particular is mesmerizing. Fires on all cylinders.
Also the Iguana and Crocodile POVs were two of the best things that happened in movies this year. WHAT ARE THESE FUCKIN IGUANAS DOIN ON MY COFFEE TABLE??

yeah bro it is a pretty fuckin dope movie though I gotta say the first viewing was a singular experience for me. Like audioslave took my musical virginity at 15 and be yourself was the biggest soul crushing experience ever I had looked forward to bad lieutenant like no movie ever. And herzog has a lot of better movies a ton, but this is good. I'm really dying for "my son my son what have ye done" to leak, of the people who have seen it most think it is better. So yeah my expectations were too high for this but shit the whole oxygen freak out really is wonderful and even just giggling each time he says G. Herzog movies feel really organic too me and I like that. Good editting, long shots which are just satisfying even if they arent perfect. I like a serious man and inglourious basterds more.

I think one of my favorite scenes was when he was going in and out of an accent (towards the end), it immediately seems like terrible acting but I'm 100% sure it's Cage being self-aware
