Well...what is your opinion?
I would really dig a Pearl Jam or Eddie Vedder/Ben Harper collaboration album.
To be honest, considering the close bond between Ed & Ben (Ben being the godfather for Ed's daughter Harper etc) I'd might prefer an effort by them.

Could be some sick stuff

Are there really that many songs to constitute a good mix? Indifference, Red Mosquito, Under Pressure, Throw Your Hatred Down, Masters of War, that's all I can think of, there's probably more though.

Like a side project thing

Is Ed's kid really named Harper? And is Ben Harper really the godfather?

No doubt the album would be awesome. I only know a couple of Ben's records, and I feel like Ed would have a hard time keeping up with some of Ben's funk, and gospel-style stuff. "Keeping up" might not be the right terminology, but I don't see Ed's voice matching with that music. Where as Ben's voice would match nicely with the folky, rock stylings of Ed.

Ah, my B. Yeah that would be awesome.

I know it's cliche, but once you hear Indifference w/Ben Harper it's like the song was meant to be a duet between BH and EV.

I wish I could hear it like you. I really enjoy Ben Harper and I really enjoy Indifference, but not together.

I like the way Ben plays on Red Mosquito and I would love to see him push Pearl Jam's jam's into that direction. A Mirror Ball type thing would be cool.

This could be great. or could be average.

I really like Ben but his stuff seems to be very hit or miss.

I just think Ben's voice and his style of singing fits that song perfectly, I especially like it when EV kind of harmonizes in the background on the last chorus ala Live at the Garden.

I'm not really feeling Ben lately. Or..since 1999

Give me an Ed/Jim James or an Ed/Beck colab first

His last few Innocent Criminals albums weren't too good, but I liked this new one with the new backing band.
