Soundgarden confirms 2010 reunion

Wasting no time to kick off 2010 with a bang, Soundgarden has officially confirmed plans to reunite this new year. The revelation came just before midnight, via frontman Chris Cornell’s Twitter:

“The 12 year break is over & school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again!

The band has yet to detail any specific plans, but, according to a source with knowledge of the reunion, West Coast dates have already been scheduled for next Spring. The band is also said to be “into the idea” of an appearance at this year’s Coachella Music Festival.

Soundgarden last performed together in 1997. On October 6, 2009, the band reunited during night three of Pearl Jam’s four-night stand at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, CA. It marked its first public appearance together since the breakup.

Zippy chance. Soundgarden would probably work around Matt's schedule with PJ.

Something better be worked out, cause if not, I am pretty pissed, just because that Hack cornell now needs money and credibility back, he goes back to them, please, it's a big fucking joke if you ask me :shake:

Matt is a whore.

But does a pretty good job if you ask me.

I'll be so happy to see Matt back where he belongs - while I've occasionally been critical of his drumming in Pearl Jam, he was an absolute monster of a drummer with Soundgarden. It's just more suited to his drumming style.

This is good news, regardless of why they're doing it. If they just wanted to get a chance to play those songs again (and make a little cash while doing so), how can anyone hold that against them?

One of my favorite performances of all time by a drummer on a song is Matt's drumming on Burden In My Hand.

Absolutely.....fine...play a couple shwos but soiundgarden is done and Cornell is an abortion at best nowadays.
