Just looked up what this is.
What's a QWERTY keyboard and is it important?

My wife isn't as technical as you or I, that's for certain. Could you tell if there are good apps for it yet? Obviously more will come as they gain in popularity, but my wife is very impressed with the simplicity of the iPhone apps.

This year a load of smart phones (many using android) are coming out that are going to be very competitive with iphone. The nexus one is currently one of the bests, but it is coming to verizon sometime in the spring. I would look for a phone with an AMOLED display, they are absolutely beautiful.

Just got one of these on Friday. So far, I love it. I like the interface more than the iPhone and running multiple apps at once is very cool. It also has very good voice recognition software and GPS navigation. The camera is good too. Supposedly it's getting an update sometime this month that adds multitouch capabilities and improves the battery life. I would highly recommend if you're looking at getting a great smartphone on Verizon.

I have had one for about a month now. I like it a lot. I wanted an iPhone, but the AT&T service sucks in my area, so I went with this in order to stay with Verizon.
There are a lot of cool apps, and a lot of apps that suck...you just have to chose the ones you like and try them out.
I did a lot of reading online before I bought it, and there is a lot of good info on this site: http://www.droidforums.net
Two of the guys that I work with have gone out and bought them after seeing mine in action, for what that's worth.
