Dodd would probably not have been re-elected. This is good news for Democrats, as now they will run a better candidate.

Unfortunately, it's so elementary, and the big time investors behind the drive in the stock market aren't so stupid. This isn't the false economy of 2000.
I really have no idea what this dude has done besides being a fuckhole democrat and taking over for Kennedy on the health care committee.
He's knee-dip in the shit that is the Fannie/Freddie boondoggle.
I really have no issue iwth him and the healthcare debate. If he truly believes in this bill, and those he represents also do, then he is right to support it. It's the finance stuff that makes me hate him. It just reeks of corruption and bckroom deals.

which is what is being reported.

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal will seek Chris Dodd's seat, reports the New York Times.
Public Policy Polling had a poll in the field this weekend, which has yet to be released but which will report that Blumenthal's entry will make the seat "uber safe" for Democrats. In addition, previous polling from Quinnipiac had found Blumenthal with exceptionally strong numbers -- a 79/13 (!) approval rating as of July -- and running well in prospective horse-race match-ups.

Linda McMahon is really campaigning hard though. Don't count her out just yet...
Peter Schiff never really stood a chance, did he?
Watcha gonna do, brother, when Linda McMahon runs wild all over you!!!!
I say don't count her out, but really, as soon as Blumenthal made his announcement, everyone here knew who'd be our next senator. It's a long time coming.
