Kinda makes my 6 straight 15 hour days at the office seem... less painful.
I'm currently working on a project for Haiti. We're making thermo-electric stoves to help reduce the deforestation problem there. Sad, we've made a lot of contacts down there and probably won't be hearing from them any time soon...

Impossible. You are an ignorant, hate-filled, right-wing jerk who cares nothing about those less fortunate than you. Continued lying will not help your reputation here.

My boss's sister is in the process of adopting two children from Port Au Prince. They are like 8 and 9 years old, and live in an orphanage. They've been to Haiti several times to visit the kids and get things set up...they were supposed to go there again this coming weekend, but they aren't going to be actually taking the children home until July or something. His whole family is understandably on edge. I guess the orphanage was tough to get in touch with before the quake, but I heard on the radio that you pretty much can't get in touch with Haiti unless you're talking to someone with a satellite phone. My boss isn't in yet this morning, so I don't know if they ever found anything out...

As long as he's doing what he's told that's fine by me

Kinda weird to think that while I was sleeping peacefully last night, millions of people a few thousand miles away were digging themselves out of rubble and looking for their friends and loved ones.

Specifics are sketchy, but it appears that both kids are fine and that the orphanage didn't sustain any major damage. Obviously, the trip this weekend was postponed.
There are reports that the main prison was destroyed and many inmates escaped.
And I'm sure many were killed so I guess we can call that a wash.
Add several hundred violent felons to the streets of Port-au-Prince and see if you can tell the difference.
In the wake of a natural disaster no less.

Seriously. Seems like if you're black AND catholic your shit gets fucked up on a regular basis. See also: New Orleans.

Seriously, God blessed you by placing your people on a barely accessible continent far from the madness of the west, and what do you do? Convert to CATHOLICISM?!?
Bend over, motherfuckers.

The Catholic Mission system of the colonial era wasn't exactly a fair way of asking people to convert.
