I think this video may give the final answer to the Matt vs. Dave question.

I was at this show, it was at the old Aladdin. I was sitting in the balcony sick as dog, I was delirious from medication and loud music, I had a religious experience.

The music used to convey something profound folks,

I hate The Fixer too, but early PJ had some shit lyrics too. I honestly find old school, rafter-hanging Ed/big hat wearing Jeff era Pearl Jam rather uncomfortable to watch. Just as wretch inducing as the Fixer/Target video. But, the band also did a lot of great stuff in early days, just like they are still pretty great more often than not these days, so I don't get too worked up over the occasional fuck ups.
