Okay,

Totally edit and rewind. No one liked my viewpoint, albeit a couple of folks understood what I was getting at, but nevertheless, let's try this again:

How about THESE:

Worlds Finest

http://www.untamedcinema.com/
GRAYSON

It's these types of things that make it impossible for me to separate fantasy from reality.

THESE are the type of films Warner/DC should be making..... less flash and more substance, not the over hyped hacked up over cast Batman films of past years. Val? Keaton? Clooney? Right. None of those guys are the Batman from the comics, they can't pull off the intensity. An unknown and a strong story is needed, for my taste at least.

.... and my husband is an SOB for showing these to me. I had to punch him, especially for the Grayson one.

And Christopher Reeve was the quintessential movie Superman. Tom Welling is the PERFECT Clark Kent - and I wish he and Michael Rosenbaum would be cast as Superman and Lex. But since its a money machine, they won't.

Like Howard Stern says: Just make a comic book.

I loved X-Men (the movie versions of it).

New Thoughts?

Pretty good movie I thouhgt, most of it being CGI. I agree that it would make a great background for Superman.

I liked the look of the film and if you have seen the old 1940's superman cartoons, the first set of robots that attack the city are dead ringers for the robots that Superman fights in Mechanical Monsters.

as for the content of the film, i was not overly impressed.

God I hope not. That movie was horrible. The effects which got incredible praise bored me to death.

I know for a fact that both the Batman and Superman movies won't be like that so I can breath a sigh of relief.

Man...the batman movie looks 10x better than Sky Captain did. Jude Law is turning out to be such a spare.

Yep, in fact the robots from the Superman cartoon were the inspiration for the robots in the beginning of the movie.

While many people loved the look of this movie, I thought it was terrible. It looked too dark and blurry. I was not impressed by the CGI work at all. Give me a real movie set.

And it's called Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.
