Well, I didn't see a thread specifically devoted to Gamefly so here it is. I just signed up on Monday and received my games today. Right now I'm on the 2 at a time plan. I have all 3 systems: Wii, 360, and PS3 so it seems worth it to me.

I received these to start out with:

Uncharted 2
Dragon Age Origins

Hopefully it is as smooth as Netflix but that is setting the bar high. As long as I get my games within a week and don't get charged any crazy fees AND the games work - I'll be satisfied.

I figured I was spending way too much on games that I'd play through once, maybe twice and then never touch again. I did the math and I should be able to play more games this way. I'll probably still buy some games but really only the games with significant replay value.

Anyone have gamefly and what has been your experience?

i've never had gamefly, but i've heard mostly positive things. i remember a lot of people not being able to get new, highly anticipated releases when they come out (like MW2), but i'm not sure how true that is.

Apparently, GF is having some huge end of the year sale right now that ends in a couple of days. A lot of stuff is sold out but I managed to get COD: WAW for $17.99 minus $5 off for being a new member (some coupon they offered). Anyway, for $12.99 I couldn't pass it up and I've heard good things about the campaign and the multiplayer.

Also, I don't think you have to be a member to buy the games so search around the site, there are good deals to be found.

I also finished Uncharted 2, that game was great - I thought it was better than the first. Very fun and the story was interesting. My wife loves Dragon Age but it doesn't look like a game that would interest me too much, but I might give it a go after she's done with it.

Timed it perfectly - sent back a game and I'm getting Mass Effect 2 being sent to me this week.

Awesome.

My roommate had it after it came out and I remember it taking forever to get new games. They probably adressed that though if they're still around. The wait would be anywhere from ten days to two weeks usually.

I had long waits for games...i thought it was lack of enough distribution centers but i would hope theyve done somethign about that because i dont see this business going anywhere but up.

The wait is definitely longer than Netflix. It can be about a week to 10 days sometimes (but sometimes sooner) to get games from the time you send them in to the time you have another at home.

I'm surprised that netflix didn't try out gaming rentals though.

Make no mistake - this is not netflix's efficiency but as long as you know that then you'll be satisfied. The closer you live to a distribution center will probably have an effect on wait times too.

ever since gamefly came out...i've been anticipating netflix making a move on video games but they surprisingly haven't.
i would be all over gamefly if they had the same efficiency.

the only downfall that gamefly really has and its not their fault (and i only have one system) is that there are only so many good games that id really like to play. i found that it really wasnt worth it if the game catalog consisted mainly of games that i dont really want to play in the first place. it was alaso extremely difficult to get the new releases like someone has mentioned.
