liking about 1/2 this album a lot, the rest will have to grow on me. then again, the last Quasi album i totally LOVED was probably The Sword of God in 2001.
they're still a total blast to see live tho, can't miss Janet on drums.

I just come back from the Paris show. Easily the best show I have seen this year.
Got to chat a bit with Sam before and pick the New Year's Eve show on DVD (where they cover Who songs), then the show was a pure blast. As a power trio (with Joanna Bolme from the Jicks), they deliver one of the best rock'n'roll (in the good sense) show I have seen. Sam is a great showman, and Janet... She is one of the best drummer in the world.
It was also great to be in a tiny venue (50 people ?) and hear them joke on stage. They took requests for the encore, and ended with Pictures of Lily (by the Who).
I asked Janet about the Drumgasm project (drums only with Matt Cameron and Zach Hill): she laughed, I told that I ask her the same question whenever I can (last time was 4 years ago, when I saw Sleater-Kinney, then Quasi), and confirmed that Sam is the only person who has a copy. I asked her if I could have a copy, she replied that it will come out. Eventually. One day. She wondered if anyone could be interested in that stuff, she thinks it's great to do jogging.

I saw them too on this tour back a month ago... in a club with under 100 people too Janet shouldnt be allowed in rooms that small
she was too gassed after the show / sucking down water so i didnt bug her with any questions though... but during the first of the 2 opening bands... Sam and Joanna were rocking out in the audience... of only maybe 15-20 people
PJ really should get Quasi to open for them sometime

I liked "When the Going Gets Dark" a tad more... but Black Dogs and Bubbles, Little White Horse, and Bye Bye Blackbird have some KILLER jams/sonic sounds.
fav Quasi song - I Dont Know You Anymore
