I know what you mean, I admire his honesty though

Man, that prank interview really did start the ball rolling, didn't it?
I do think he's the right kind of player Real should be targeting. Young guys willing to put in the effort.
Becks looks like he wants out of Spain because the paparrazi keeps hounding his kids. Raul has already said he's willing to be the sacrifise for the good of the club. Figo, the most consistent of the Galacticos, seems like the only one the top clubs would want right now. No one would want Ronaldo right now, and Zidane... whatever happened to him?

Arsenal need to shape up and do something in Europe next season. It's pathetic that a team with that much quality can't put it together. And because of it, I think Viera is definitely gone this summer...and I wouldn't be surprised to Henry leave Highbury too if they don't splash out some serious transfer money this summer.
Obviously Reyes wants out of Arsenal. I mean, he is Spanish so I'm sure he'd rather be playing in his home country. It seemed like a strange transfer to begin with, anyways...
As far as him being the perfect kind of player for Real Madrid, I couldn't agree more. Sign him and Fernando Torres up and you've the the core of the future Spanish national team. I've always found it kind of strange that Real Madrid goes for all these foreign galacticos, and seems to passover the Spanish ones (save Raul). I don't know much about Spain, but I always thought it was a very patriotic country...so why would the flagship team be composed of less than a handful of Spaniards?

Not in this lifetime, buddy. I usually worry about Vieira every summer, but I don't think he's going anywhere. Henry would rather rot in hell than not play for Arsenal, and Wenger will spend wisely on 2, maybe 3 quality players. Maybe even 4 if we cash in on Ashley as well (which I really don't mind since Clichy looks like the goods).
A classy central defender, a proven goalscorer and a versatile midfield player and I think we'll be back in business. Oh and a new goalkeeper, but this one really has to be it. I reckon we'll get Niemi and that's a-ok by me.
If we sell Reyes for 15m and Ashley for around 16-17m... Wenger will have almost 60m to spend. Couple that with the emerging Fabregas (superstar player), Senderos (very promising) and Clichy like I said is a ready made replacement to Ashley Cole... I don't see too much to worry about.
And who are we kidding... as if Wenger will spend 60m in one summer. He'll get the bargains, and still leave himself 20-30m to play with for the mid season window.

Shopping list:
Niemi
Owen
Wright-Phillips
Cannavaro
I don't think any of these are unrealistic signings. Owen as part of a swap with Reyes.

That's a damn good shopping list, but I doubt they'll get all that. I think Niemi will come cheap, especially if Southamption go down. Wright-Phillips will cost 12-15 million, which Man City can't turn down. I don't think Owen is leaving Madrid--especially since Ronaldo and Raul are on the way out. Owen has been Madrid's best striker this season, and they'd be crazy to get rid of him. Can you imagine Owen lining up with Reyes? Unreal! Furthermore, I can't see Owen playing for anyone in England but Liverpool. Cannavaro would be a good buy, I'm a big fan of the Italian players--I think they're much more suited to English football than the South Americans and Spanish.
But the bottom line is this: Arsenal will have to splash the cash to keep up with Chelski. As will Man United. Over the course of a Premiership season, no one has the squad to compete with Chelsea. I agree that Fabregas is going to be a superstar (I'd say cash in on Viera now and pass the midfield over to Fabregas, only he's quite small), and Senderos will be solid, but not soon enough. A proven goalscorer is on everyone's shopping list, but they don't come cheap, and Arsenal are cheap when it comes to transfers (Reyes being the exception). I think Henry is Arsenal through and through, but we all said the same thing about Rooney and Owen and their respective clubs. Henry publicly said after their CL elimination that he was frustrated at the club's lack of transfers---if that doesn't change this summer, Henry is gone for Spain. He knows he won't be able win the CL with Arsenal unless they've the squad to compete wtih Chelsea in the Premiership. Winning the Premiership might be the toughest league to win, and to win both the Premiership and the CL you've to have a big squad that can easily cope with injuries. Neither Arsenal nor Man United have that squad.
We'll see...I'd love to Henry banging in 30 meter bombs against Jose Mourinho for the next 5 years, but I just don't see it happening so long as Arsenal continue their traditional spending habits.
