I still think that any Super Bowl in a cold weather must be held in a dome. If not, the cold weather team has a huge advantage over one that plays in predominantly warm weather or in domes.
Can you imagine a Super Bowl between Green Bay and Miami in Soldier Field or Heinz Field in late January in a blinding snowstorm? Who do you think would benefit more?
never ever going to happen and i hope it doesn't, there are other needs in this state besides a fucking football stadium
I for one think the there should be a new stadium built somewhere in NY.....but not in Manhattan. I also think the Jets and Giants should share it. It doesn't make sense for two brand new stadiums to be built so close to each other so soon..........

I don't care where it's built..as long as the Jets pay for it.
I (along with most NY State residents) agree with lowlight79...the last thing we need to do in this broken state is subsidize this crap.
Great to see that the whole NFL (besides the Bills, who are the closest to the current mess in Erie County and NY state in general) is anti-NY business and taxpayer as well. There's probably a seat for the 31 owners in the NY STate Assembly.

I want the stadium, I am not sold on anyone's statements for or against it at this point. It will definitely create jobs and tax revenue. No matter what they build there there will be some type of subsidy from the state anyway. I was shocked to see Rev Al come out in support of it. It looks like it is gaining momentum right now, I would have never believed it could happen but it is looking like it might. Anything to crush the Dolans. I agree that the Jets and Giants should get together and it would be much easier to get done. If you look at ALL of the professional sports stadiums in the NY Metro area you will see that everyone one of them are among the oldest in their respective sport

Because NY State isn't taxed enough? We're already number one...but hey...let's continue to drive businesses out of the state..
If building stadiums is such a long term investment...then why isn't private industry lining up to do so?
and yeah..I'm REAL shocked someone like Al Shaprton, Guiliani, or any other NY politician is for this...i mean...they OBVIOUSLY feel guilty spending other people's money.

Shea Stadium?
Considering how many stadiums have been built the last 5 years I would guess Shea is one of the 5 oldest stadiums in the NL.

Shea Stadium?
the only ones older than Shea are Wrigley, Fenway, Dodger Stadium, and Yankee Stadium.
and Yankee Stadium underwent a massive renovation in the 70's....

I like yankee stadium the way it is. I still have a set of seats from the original stadium when they renovated.

I don't think a cold weather Super Bowl is such a bad idea. Every time a southern team plays in Green Bay, Chicago or Buffalo a big deal is made about the weather. "How will you adjust to the cold?" Is anybody else sick of the same story every other game. You play your season in the fall and the winter!! They are going to play in cold weather at least a few times due to schedule and the season the game is played in. The playoffs are in January. Why not the super bowl in New York or any other northern city?
