OK, here's a way we can cut government spending. Instead of sending me a letter that tells me that I am going to get another letter in a week, and that I should respond to that second letter ... just send me the god damned census form!
I just cut your census budget in HALF!!!

About one week from now, you will receive a 2010 Census form in the mail. When you receive your form, please fill it out and mail it back promptly.
Your response is important. Results from the 2010 Census will be sued to help each community get its fair share of government funds for highways, schools, health facilities, and many other programs you and your neighbors need. Without a complete, accurate census, your community may not receive its fair share.
Thank you in advance for your help.

You didn't even mention all the advertisements that have been popping up on television with the same reminder. I'd like to see how much money is wasted on this.

I can accept this. This is communicating via multiple outlets to improve the response rate and drop the number of homes that have to be visited in person. Someone who normally ignores unrecognized mail, might see or hear a PSA and be on the look out for the letter. But sending two letters? If I'm a person who ignores letters, I'm going to ignore letter #1 just has hard as I ignore letter #2.

Mods, make it happen.
Alright, let's just proceed as though this is going really well.
