this guy is probably my favorite person in Washington
I've looked over the entirety of his policy positions and I don't agree with all of them but I'm pretty close.
Here is some recent news from him. I'm not sure if I agree with him or not at this point because my healthcare views are a few months old. Anyway, he should have his own thread, as the most progressive member of congress.

I always found it interesting comparing him to Ralph Nader, in how they are very closely aligned ideologically, but have drastically different political aims.
EDIT: we also need Joesanity to post in here, since he's in Kucinich's district.

This is a pretty hearty indictment of Kucinich from a liberal point of view as basically a do-nothing Congressman. The stuff they quoted from Kos from COuntdown the other night is pretty tame compared to his past comments.
Kucinich Had A UFO Encounter, According To Friend Shirley MacLaine By Eric Kleefeld - October 23, 2007, 10:19AM
In Shirley MacLaine's new book, the actress and longtime friend of Dennis Kucinich makes an interesting claim: During a visit to her home in Washington state, Kucinich said he saw a UFO and heard messages from it.
"Dennis found his encounter extremely moving," MacLaine writes. "The smell of roses drew him out to my balcony where, when he looked up, he saw a gigantic triangular craft, silent, and observing him.
"It hovered, soundless, for 10 minutes or so, and sped away with a speed he couldn't comprehend. He said he felt a connection in his heart and heard directions in his mind."
Kucinich's campaign and Congressional offices did not return calls or e-mails from the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

He pissed off a lot of people around here a few years ago with his presidential run and faced a tough contest in the primary. But he's so established around here that nobody was going to beat him and the Republicans don't even bother (like in most of NEO).
I really only follow what he does locally and that isn't too much as he has a reputation for not putting much time into his own district. I'm not a big fan, but did appreciate him coming out against ODOT's failure to plan for a bike lane on the new I90 bridge that's coming. So there's that. Knew some people (second hand) who worked for him and hated it.
