Just got a great hotel room on Hotwire for $150/night which includes taxes. Rate usually $300 w/ taxes. Roosevelt Hotel. Staying wed-sat and midtown east, 3.5 stars.

Hey given2trade - on Hotwire, did you get to see that you were booking the Roosevelt BEFORE you booked? I'd love to get that rate there too.
Assuming I can get tickets to the Boston show(s) and MSG, I'll be making the trek from Seattle.
Anyone willing to give out travel tips for both NY and Boston I'm all ears! Thanks.
its a communist idea, but you could do it all mass transit.
Fung Wah or Lucky Star buses go from Boston's South Station to NY's Chinatown for $15 round trip.
so fly into boston (b/c that/those show/s are first) bus it to NYC, and after those shows bus it back to boston where your departing flight would be from if you flew in there. both cities have undergrounds that should get you from airport-to-hotel-to-arena w/o dealing w/ city traffic.

No. It's a secret. They don't tell you the hotel till after you pay for it, that's how you get it so cheap. I'm 99.99% sure you will get the same hotel though if you choose the 3.5 star midtown east hotel thats $135 or thereabouts. The price moved a bit after I purchased.
You will not find a decent NYC hotel for anywhere close to this price. The location is also perfect. I know from living in NYC.

Thanks to all for the advice thus far. I called Hotwire and asked them to tell me what their Rooseveldt rate is and they said it's $179. I guess I'll do my real searching after Tuesday, IF I'm able to get tickets. Thanks again.

Their business model is you get the room w/o knowing what it is. If you get your MSG tickets and are really serious about booking a room via hotwire, PM me and I will walk you through the steps.
