I would have preferred the Dodge Center (or whatever it's called these days) even if it was 40 degrees just like 2006.
We just call it The Meadows. And yeah, it's much better than the Civic Center (XL or whatever).

I think the band likes us in CT. I mean, there's no other reason to play here since NYC & Boston are within 2 hours. They played maybe the rarest set of 2008 here.
Anyway, this may be the only show I can make, so hopefully it's a goodie.

I just got back from Hartford, and I would have delayed my business there had I known Pearl Jam was playing in May. Sigh. One of these days, one of these days...

That's ridiculous.
can only realistically do a week and seems more friends are doing midwest (many from Chicago or Detroit). Plus places I've never been is easier to justify and less hyped-up shows tend to end up better (plus Hartford is a shithole).

Good points. Hartford is a shithole.

Is that right? Were you at MSG in 2008? I think you're rationalizing a bad decision.
But I don't even know you so I should probably butt out.

I was at MSG in 08, even won front row lottery there :p .. that was great sure, but the little shows can give the best moments (Zagreb, Dusseldorf, Grand Rapids, Newcastle are what I have in mind). Anyhow, I passed on the Boston/MSG (even though could have got all tickets.. actually GOT tickets, for friends) and I'm doing the midwest

Man I wish this show was at the Meadows (the ampitheater). Tailgating there is good.
Tailgating around the XL sucks. And there's a lot of bars in the area, but most of them suck too.
FYI, there's a place a block away called City Steam Brewery - decent food and they brew some really good beer. 2 blocks in the opposite direction is a bunch of bars all in a row. Pig's Eye Pub on Asylum Ave and The Pour House on Ann St are decent. Maybe I'll see a couple of you there.
