Filmakers are hoping to bring to light the struggles the music industry has had with ticketmaster. In a screenplay titled, Priced Out, written by John Stoutmire and his brother Jack, both of whom were members of a little know group called Placebo Effexs from Ontario, Canada, the ticketing giant is targeted. Both brothers feel betrayed by the music industry who did not help them when the venue giant wouldn't scale back ticket prices.

The film is much like those produced by Michael Moore and Morgan Spurlock, it's a documentary but has a slanted edge to it. Overall the film progresses just fine and some of the interaction with well known and unknown bands is quite humorous. Where it departs from other documentaries are the "reenactments", including Johnny Depp as Eddie Veddar of the band Pearl Jam. In the 90's, Pearl Jam were well known for going to Congress to testify against the monopoly (that they felt) of Ticketmaster.

If you're interested in following how a semi-known band tours and their trial and tibulations, then this is the movie for you. Priced Out is rated R for adult language and brief nudity.
