Go Spartans! They seem to finally be pulling it together. I actually think they can make a run at this if they play to their potential. I don't know where the Jim Slater I'm used to has been all season, but it's good to see him back the past few games.

Look, I'm obviously biased even if I try not to be, but I seriously think the Wolverines are overrated this year. They just haven't been all that impressive to me, mostly cause Montoya hasn't performed the way I expected him. I truly think their record has benefited from a really down year in the CCHA, where there's a possibility UofM are the only representative in the NCAAs. I just can't see them hanging with Colorado College, Denver, Cornell, even BC & Minnesota. Of course, they proved me wrong when Turco carried them to a championship mostly on his own, so who knows.

honestly I have no idea when it comes to the midwest teams. I haven't seen anyone outside of Hockey East this year. I've seen BC play Northeastern, BU, Maine and UNH. Other than that, I'm a bit out of the loop. I do know though that this year's NCAA is wide open and is going to be a heckuva ride. I can't believe we have two regionals being played within an hour of eachother. That's going to be fun, and Columbus should be a blast.

Such a regionally biased fan. Doesn't it suck that college hockey doesn't get more coverage? I've caught a few games from teams outside the CCHA, but I sure wish I could get more live exposure to WCHA, Hockey East, etc.

someone's not doing a very good job of marketing college hockey, especially in the abscence of the NHL. the budget must be pretty small, but can't they at least get the games on TV or come up with a direct tv package?

I don't get CSTV so i never get to see any out of market games, but i would certainly watch more of them if they were on. It'd be nice to get to see how these teams stack up. Any games BC plays against quality opponents from out of conference always happen early in the season before I'm able to go or get into it. I score-watch, but I can't really keep up with things until near conference tournament time because of my job. I can't wait for Hockey East though, it's going to be fun. I've seen some incredible games the past few years.

I think CSTV is a step in the right direction, at least. They just need a little time until they're included in more basic cable plans. That's my hope.
And I almost forgot to add...one step closer. Come on Spartans.

Well....that pretty much ends it. Nice run to the semis, but after such a crappy season, the Spartans pretty much got what they deserved. This final is a tough one for me. UofM vs OSU. God, I wish they could both lose.
However, Colorado College looked damn impressive tonight. I even got to see part of their game, which is unheard of! I've become an adopted Tigers fan. Met some of their crowd/boosters/parents in Ann Arbor a couple years ago, and they won me over.

Well, I've said it all year (and many recent past years) that the WCHA is the dominant conference. Four teams in the Frozen Four. That's damn impressive. The way North Dakota marched over BU & BC is the most surprising to me. Damn that conference is amazing right now. Go CC Tigers!

I was at the ND-BC game and I'll tell you what the Sioux just came out on fire. They won the game in the first 10 minutes. BC actually carried the play for most of the game, but North Dakota just took advantage of their opportunities and Cory Schneider played like a freshman in goal. It's amazing that the Eagles went from having one of the best defenses in the nation all year (under 2gpg) and then allow 10 goals in two games. Heck we were lucky to get by Mercyhurst on Friday.
I have no idea who to root for when I'm in Columbus. I'm leaning toward Minnesota, but really I'm just looking forward to partying for a few days and watching some good hockey.

Yeah, I kept telling my wife that if they were playing anyone but BC I would have been so pulling for them. That was an excellent effort by the Lakers. Looking back, after losing to ND, I almost wish that BC had lost to Mercyhurst so that I could have rooted for the big underdog on Saturday night ... almost.

ND is controlling more of the game so far, DU is clinging to a 2-1 lead in the second. I thought the Sioux were gonna take over the game after they scored. Come on DU. Hang in there.

It's so weird hearing people talk about North Dakota's great defense. This is the school that seemed to not even play defense but won by scoring 10 goals a game just a few years back.
