Had Shaq been chosen instead of Laettner, that team would have been even better.

Kinda odd that Shaq and Laettner are now on the same team.

Ah, I miss the old school NBA days....

Well, those days were good too, but I'm talking as recent as most of the 1990s, even.

so at what point do we all offcially turn into our fathers? "It was better back when Newhouser was on the mound i tell 'ya."

right now the NBA is as healthy as its been in 20 years... A whole slew of great players in their prime or in their early 20's... There is so much to look forward to- and a lot of these guys will never succeed as long as we all keep trying to hold them down by saying "it was so great then...."

James, Wade, Anthony, B. Howard, Okeafor, Stoudamire, D. Howard, etc. The league is on the way back up.

The league will never be on the way up so long as most of the players in the league can't make a jump shot.

The NBA is changing and the players are with it, there are many players who can nail jumpers but its pretty understood you get big man he works, gets fouls gets points. Its not a bad thing but i agree its back on the up. Its not fair we had seen the 3 most influencial and amazing bball players at essentially one time. Magic, Bird MJ, but thats how it was, its not fair to compare. Wade, Okeafor, Howard a lot of younger players ar egreat people and players, you cant compar ethem to the best there ever was. But in their own right, the new wave seem to have their head on straight and are playing great ball, Wade/Lebron/Anthony will save the NBA from the Carters/Kobe's

I think it's just a coincidence, but basketball hasn't been the same for me since Jordan left the Bulls in '98.

Furthermore, they insisted that one player be from college (or more accurately, just became a prospect for the draft).

olajuwon is a nigerian, but he played in the '96 games as a U.S. citizen so I guess it would be okay.

Does she look like planet of the apes or is it just me?

Every time I've seen her on espn or somewhere this week thats the first thing I think of, apes riding on horses.
