Guys, I've been desperate for a car ever since I totaled my Jetta back in February. I've been driving around my grandpa's old Ford Ranger and it just so happens that my cousin is selling his RX8 because he has gotten too many speeding tickets with it. His parents are cutting me a great deal on this, and though it's not my first choice, financially I would be absolutely stupid not to take it. I'm more of a Jetta/Civic guy, plain, economical, a little hip.

This one is really fun to drive, but let's face it, I'm not a sports car type of guy. My cousin told me that you can take off the traction control and "drift", but while he was explaining this to me I was thinking, "how the hell do you even drift, anyway?". Also, this car has 6 speeds instead of the 5 that I am used to and has something like a 9,000 rpm redline. I really don't know how to handle this car, but I'm picking it up tomorrow.

Advice?

Doesn't make you any more of a tool than owning a Jetta does.

Enjoy the car, I say. Isn't it better than a Ford Ranger?

Just buy the car. You already look like a tool.

Nothing. Just like the RX8. Or rather, the Jetta screams, "Hey, I'm kinda pretentious. I probably think I'm better than you because I appreciate the subtle things in life." And on the other hand, the RX8 screams, "Hey, I'm a fucking sports car." and in both cases, it doens't fucking matter because cars can't talk.

Do you really think that people that appreciate life's subtleties think that they are better than other people, Mickey? honest question here.

And before you point out the inconsistency in this question and the OP, remember that making threads that stimulate conversation are what I'm all about, lulz-y titles are a plus.
