Anybody see this? I watched it Friday night and I loved it. Best comedy I've seen in a long time.

When trailers are that long i'm usually suspicious that that's pretty much the funniest the film is going to get. Hope this isn't the case here.

I don't think those are the funniest moments at all. I don't think the trailer did it justice. Although I don't think two and a half minutes is particularly long for a trailer.

City Island is a good place to go for cheap seafood. Several times, it was my choice for my birthday dinner as a kid to go get lobsters there. I was always amazed that people actually live there.

agreed, the trailer is actually quite disjointed as far as the actual storylines go. i've never cared for Garcia but he's awesome in this great little movie.

I'm not sure how I found about City Island but I got it through Netflix today. A wonderful little gem of a film, the best I had watched in a good while. It deserves some excellent word of mouth, give it a chance if you haven't yet.

This was good, but I wouldn't call it excellent. All of the problems resolve themselves too easily at the end. And some characters were underutilized (the daughter, Alan Arkin, and the woman from Schenectady) or lifeless (the half-son). Some good writing and decent execution.
