I've been following this band since they started but didn't bother to join 10C until 1999 because I was an idiot and probably didn't have 10 bucks to spare anyway. I ended up getting a number in the 201xxx group. The sad thing is, every year instead of getting closer, I get further away from the band. Sad to say the closest I have ever been is 17 rows back. May be fine for someone who is six feet tall but I'm 5'3" so I am totally screwed. Anyway, at Noblesville I had incredibly bad seats. I ended up leaving my seats and going out to the lawn so I could see the jumbo-tron because I couldn't see anything from my seats. Not even peeking through armpits worked this time. Now I've looked at touringfans and noticed that I really did get screwed in a big way. EVERYONE after me has better seats than me all the way up to the 400+ people were closer than me. So, what exactly is the deal? I still loved the show simply because I was there and got to experience it but should I contact 10C and ask why my seats were so much worse than everyone elses? And would I just be better off trying to buy my next tour tickets from ticketmaster? I really don't know but feel ripped off that people who have been in the 10C for 1 year had better seats than me.
PS When I see people complain about how they didn't get front row and only got fifth row this tour I want to smack them. I would pass out if I managed to get tenth row at this point. Wait, I'd pass out if I got in one of the first sections. I'm sorry if this is a bitchfest but I'm sure if I talked about it on their forum I would be blacklisted for life. Is it a waste of time writing to these people or will I just end up doing myself more harm than good?

10C hates you. If you write to them about it, they will hate you more and you will be lucky to get lawn seats.

Is it possible you might have had lotto tix and they were switched on you at the box office? I remembered hearing about that back in 2008, but have there been any reports since then?

i don't think it would hurt you to bring this up to the 10c, especially given what you're seeing on touringfans. 10c know what seats you were supposed to be allotted. say that you're not bitching about your seats, just that you noticed this discrepancy and thought it was odd, and wanted to see if there was a possibility you got cheated at the ticket window. it's happened before, and i'm sure it'll happen again. the more 10c knows about these things, the better chance they wioll do something about it.

Maybe you let your membership lapse....?

Yeah, at least I know they don't hate me now. I'm just an idiot. I have some major medical probs that kept me hospitalized for several months over the past few years. I didn't know they had a policy about lapses so I did let it lapse but it wasn't for two straight years. Still don't know what that's about. I just didn't realize anything had changed because when I got out of the hospital I ordered my renewal and my number stayed the same. It would probably be a good idea for them to issue you a new number and send it to you when stuff like that happens and make you fill out a new application. That way you know you've screwed up. Instead I went on my merry way thinking all was cool. I wrote to ten club and told them about my circumstances and hopefully I will get my old number back (even though when I sign in, it is still my old number anyway). Weird.
Oh and there are some real douchebags on the ten club board. They were rejoicing over my bad luck. Yippppeeeee! They pissed me off for a second and then I got over it. Oh well, I guess I can get back to hating myself now. I feel so emo. I'll see if I can find something sharp to cut myself. Woe is me!

I let my membership expire (just forgot to renew, and renewed like two months later), and when I did renew, I got a new, higher number. I emailed them to ask for my original back, and it worked. I don't know if they do this for everyone, or maybe give you a bit of leeway if done within x amount of days of your expiration date, but perhaps if you ask, they'll hook you up.

They let me have my old number back when I lapsed once after I emailed them. But I only lapses a few weeks.

Most importantly, we ALL hope your medical issues are solved and you are 100% healthy.
