I know this may sound cheesy but...

Next week I am driving across country and will be driving through Billings, MT. I know the Yield sign on the cover of "Yield" is "on a road outside of Billings". Does anyone here know the actual road?

I know this request is uber-nerdy, but I thought it might be cool to take the pic myself. You know, just to solidify my place in PJ nerd-dom.

Nevermind, their answer is in typical Rumor Pit fashion.

Q: Where in Montana was the photo of the Yield cover taken?
A: Outside of Billings.

Are you talking about roads or yield signs?

It's not like we'd know the difference, Chris. I know you would though, and that would probably bug you.

I know. I live in some high desert mountains right now, but if I took the pic here I know it wouldn't be the real thing. I mean, I'm not going to go too far out of my way, I just thought that if I knew where it was and was passing through I might check it out...

Yeah, I got the pics of that when I was in Italy. I'm a sucker for open desert roads or roads out in the open plains. That's the one thing I'll miss about where I'm leaving and it is what really draws me to the Yield cover.

So this topic caused me to take a closer look at the album cover and I realized for the first time that the photo makes no sense to me. I see no other roads converging with the main road, so who in the fuck would you be yielding to when you get to the sign?
