I have no idea how to do this, i'm trying to get some screen shots from all of my dvds so I can post the shot on my website (preferably getting the picture as a link), http://www.freewebs.com/rogerdaltrey/
Is there a way I can do this with Windows media player or Nero Showtime??

I don't know, but that thing the cursor does when you're on your site is freaky!
Actually, showtime can do it but it takes bitmaps so you'd have to then convert it. I forget exactly how to do it but play around with the right-click menu and with the settings and you should be able to figure it out.

Yeah i've tried that several times. I read the online guide for it, and it says there are 3 different settings you can choose from on how you want to save the "capture frame", which is an option when you right click it while playing a dvd. I've looked at everything on Nero showtime, and Nero 6 and there is no way you can change settings like that. I clicked "capture frame" and it pauses the screen for a second and thats it. I looked through the folders for Nero and nothing showed up there.

Well, I do. There is all kinds of software on the net that let you take DVD screen caps, but most cost $. The way I do it, when I need to, is I extract the VOB file and open it up in Adobe Premiere, which lets you export individual frames as images. And voila! A screen capture.

a real easy way is to play the dvd on your computer in full screen mode, and when you want a screen shot, press the [print screen] mine says [prnt scrn] then go to pait, or any other picture program and click paste...might not be the most 'techicical' way but it works
That doesnt work because of the way the video is done. Did you actually even try that? It shouldnt work for anyone, actually. It should just show up as a black screen.

Couldn't you do it for free by pausing the DVD, hitting "Print Scrn," hitting "Ctrl+C" and then pasting the pic where you want it?

Finally I figured it out! All I had to do was add the vob files onto Nero's dvd creator, and it allowed me to take snapshots. They were in another folder than Nero's folders on my HD
