Machete is an upcoming action film, directed by Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis. The film will star Danny Trejo in his first lead role as the title character. The film also stars Michelle Rodriguez, Cheech Marin, Lindsay Lohan, Don Johnson, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Robert DeNiro, Jeff Fahey, and Cheryl Chin. The film is an expansion of a fake trailer Rodriguez directed for the 2007 film Grindhouse and centers around the character of Machete Cortez, who previously appeared as the uncle of the protagonists in the more lighthearted Spy Kids films. Filmed in autumn 2009, the movie will be released in the United States on September 3, 2010 by 20th Century Fox.[2]
i haven't laughed at a movie trailer like i did with this one in a long time. this could end up being a ton of fun. too bad lohan's in it. i hope she dies onscreen very bloodily.

The big flaw of your intellect is that there is no reason he can't pull this off. It's not one of you trying to suddenly master parody and pull this off, it's the same guy who made the wickedly enjoyable first half of Grindhouse.

I hope so too. Watching zombies rip fergie apart in planet terror was extremely pleasing.

Oh, I'm sure "he'll pull it off" and it will be entertaining like the first half of Desperado was. Thing is, I don't think RR's a good filmmaker. His best movie, Sin City, was already half directed by Frank Miller, and I think he missed the mark big time with Planet Terror and made an wink-at-the-camera scifi B-movie instead of a hard core grindhouse flick. At least Death Proof was true to the concept: a meandering mess with low production values that featured good cinematic moments.
But hey, maybe Machete will be a good time at the movies. It's got a great cast.
