Stone Carpenter Gossard (born July 20, 1966 in Seattle, Washington) is an American musician who serves as the rhythm guitarist for the American rock band Pearl Jam. Along with Jeff Ament, Mike McCready, and Eddie Vedder, he is one of the founding members of Pearl Jam. Gossard is also known for his work prior to Pearl Jam with the 1980s Seattle, Washington-based grunge rock bands Green River and Mother Love Bone, and he has made contributions to the music industry as a producer and owner of a record label and a recording studio. Gossard has also been a member of the side project band Brad. In 2001, Gossard released his first solo album, Bayleaf.

Didn't know his middle name was Carpenter. Can't get a more flower power name than Stone Carpenter. I'm he sure got a few ass kickings for that growing up, even in hippie loving Seattle.

Had this discussion w/ some friends over the weekend...

So how does PJ's live show change in a few years when the guys all hit age 50? Can they still pull off a really high energy show, or does it reach the point where trying to do that is just sad? I love me a PJ concert, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if they scaled it back a la' Benaroya Hall.

I've never seen the Rolling Stones live, or any huge rock band of that age for that matter, so I don't know how their live show stacks up after they become senior citizens.

It would be weird to see them still perform songs like Blood or Spin The Black Circle.
