I am by no means a big fan of them or anything, but I saw Rusted Root with a friend on Wednesday night in Boston. Decent show, if you can deal with alll their rhythm challenged, fake hippy fans. If you don't mind being bumped into 64 times a song by some girl who thinks swaying and flailing wildy is cool. Not that there's anything wrong with that....
Anyway, go, have a good time. It's a free show and you can always leave. They're decent and enthusiastic about what they play. Lots of energy and a very ecclectic mix of sounds. I'd probably see them again, certainly if it were free.

For free, go check 'em out. They usually have a high energy show. If you're not into the extended jams/drum solos along the lines of Phish/Widespread Panic/Grateful Dead, I probably wouldn't bother.

Im a fan...not a harcore fan, ive seen them once in concert and they were really good. You have to listen to them a bit before you can really get into them. They are very instrumental with high intensity. They had a few semi-hit songs which you may recognize when you here them... the song "send me on my way" was the theme song of the movie Matilda. "welcome to my party" was big enough to have a music video on mtv. "ecstacy" is my favorite song.

i had seen rusted root a few times over the years, either at festivals or as openers, and the singer twice at a local bar, but i went last night to the show in philly, and i was truly blown away. they are fucking talented musicians and they rocked out even after the singer left cause he was sick. when he came back o0ut for the last song, th crowd went nuts.
but wow, what a show. i will be there anytime they are close from now on.

wow what an awesome show.. in the process of downloading a ton of their stuff..
I have seen them dozens of times, even shot some promo shots for them. Great band, great music. They had an awesome lineup a few years ago but since have since changed it a bit.
Their version of Elvis' Suspicious Minds is great.
The lead singer, Michael, kind of missed the memo that he is not a huge rock-star though.
