Maybe I'm not the first to hear of this guy because 3 RMers that I know of already "like" his facebook page but here goes.

I have a friend that I've known since high school, guy dropped out of school, grew dreadlocks, and refused to do anything but play guitar and smoke weed (a walking stereotype right here). A few years ago he moved to Hawaii with some broad. I think they split but he stayed down there because he had started playing around with the local music scene. Well I woke up to a text today from him that said "hey pete, check 4 my bra tavana on the next pearl jam album! Hes badass!"

So wheels turn in my head, knowing what happened with Boom and where my friend is living now and playing music, and I replied "hmmmm, what do you know that I don't?" To which I got this reply: "Eddie just linkd w/ him, gonna put him on the next cut! Hasnt even been layd yet, linkd u on face b to check him. Thought u'd dig some early word on it brah, kno how much u love the jam man ;-)"

So my facebook has a page suggestiong for this page:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tavana/11 ... 811?v=wall

And this is the profile picture:

Doesn't the dude look like a Hawaiin version of our own E.H. Ruddock?

Beats me. I'd have to look at the notes on it and I'm at work now.

That is what I was thinking. PJ is always adding some new depth to their music; Boom, strings, this might be a new sound for a song or 2. Bring it on! Thanks for posting.

I think this guy plays guitar, and yes, he's playing Hawaii '78 on the Xmas single with Ed.

I found this on YouTube:

With all the time Ed spends smoking weed in Hawaii, you'd think he'd write more laidback music instead of these [censored] punkish tunes he keeps coming with.

Yep, thanks for posting. That was a fun cover of Roadhouse Blues; PJ should cover it more often.

I wonder if the single was the new album thing he was talking about? What would they do with a 4th guitar player?

I thought that too but if the song on the single was recorded some time ago so this would have been old news and I wouldn't have been told about it today. Maybe he'll play some other stringed instrument.
