awesome. ive been to last few soundwaves and they have been pretty good. id prefer this over the big day out but it comes down to personal taste of music.

Never done Soundwave before, but no way I can turn down seeing this one - even if I no idea who the majority of those bands are...for Melvins, QOTSA and Maiden alone it'll be more worth it.
Still hoping for (and sorta expecting) Soundgarden at BDO as well.

worth going for a look the venue is small enough to walk around and see bits of all the bands. thats what i prefer doing at festivals. Its a different crowd than your typical big day out too which makes for some interesting sights.
The possibility of soundgarden at BDO is tempting although ill probably go check out slayer as i saw soundgarden when they were last here. Also i doubt the funds will be able to support both gigs.

All shows licensed all ages
Soundwave Festival member’s pre sale (must be registered on the Soundwave website):
Brisbane -Tuesday 17 August Sydney – Wednesday 18 August Melbourne – Thursday 19 August Adelaide and Perth – Friday 20 August
There's still another official announcement due later, including another headliner (which I've heard rumoured is Weezer - would be a blast if true, providing they don't clash with anything else I wanna see.)

weezer eh? id be pretty happy to see those guys on the lineup. last time i saw them was on their pinkerton tour in 1998 (?)
The only downside with soundwave is because there are so many "headlining" bands there will be clashes all day but being a smallish venue its not too bad as you can get from stage to stage quite quickly. I read somewhere that the adelaide council were being pricks about having it in bonython park, looks like its been resolved

Yeah, I'm expecting a few clashes, especially when there's so much great stuff going on. Will try and catch as much as I can, will be a fun day hopefully.
