I remember renting it when I was 16 or so, felt like I was trying to sneak a movie by my parents. They were okay with R for language (Eddie Murphy movies) but objected to overly violent or sexual movies. I really liked it, a lot of the film noir/gothic cliches were still new to me. I bet I haven't seen it over 10 years, not sure how it would hold to my viewing pleasure now. I got the descending elevator imagery but what was the symbolism with the fans?

I worked for 2 years for one of the producers of this film (Alan Marshall) and he told us a couple of good stories having to do with Mickey Rourke on set, unfortunately I barely remember any of them.
