Yay or nay?

Kinda cool IMO, and would be interesting. Especially if PJ ever listens to me and goes the EP route from now on :)

For those that don't want to click on the link...

"In the latest issue of RS, Casablancas also opens up about reuniting with his band, their upcoming album, his solo disc Phrazes for the Young and his desire to produce a Pearl Jam song. "That would be a dream, because I'm a fan," he says."

Brenden O'Brien should produce every Pearl Jam track every time.

For full on albums, I'd agree. But...If PJ ever decided to release a mini album, or just a new song for the fuck of it, then I'd be all for JC producing.

Tchad Blake was a good choice. They should have let him finish Binaural. Also, Brendan O'Brien didn't produce Riot Act and that's probably the best sounding Pearl Jam record there is.

Good point. But wasn't the dude who did RA also responsible for Avocado? If so, he's 50/50.

if Casablancas was responsible for mercy mercy me I'm not sure I'd want him involved. You have to work pretty hard to make Eddie sound bad on a cover, and he pulls it off.

Different subject (kinda) but I hope if Binaural ever gets the "deluxe" treatment like Ten, that they include a full on binaural version of the album. Did they record them all that way, then changed their minds?

I don't think so. Binaural recordings isn't a production technique it's a recordings technique.
