So, I had this concept of making some live Pearl Jam compilations but with limitations: max. time 80 mins, one leg of a tour (or one tour, depending on the length of said tour) compressed into a tight, no-frills listening experience tailor-made to fit on one CD. I don't know about you guys, but I don't often have the time or patience to sit through a whole two-hour Pearl Jam show when there's so much other music to listen to and other stuff to do - this is an attempt at creating a bite-size live comp that still captures the key moments of a given tour.

I've made one for the 2008 tour to kick things off, will I do more? If time and inspiration allows - I might not, but there's every chance I will. I chose 2008 in particular as I wasn't thrilled overall with the performances on this tour compared to past years, however they played some cool rarities and some great performances of individual songs that didn't deserve to be forgotten about - really, I just made it for myself rather than having to sit through a whole 2008 show but thought someone else might have a passing interest too, so I've decided I may as well create a thread.

There was absolutely no effort to represent all the shows (though I did listen to 'em all at some point), songs were chosen strictly on my own personal tastes and what I thought were the standout performances from the tour. Your views may vary wildly, which is great - make your own comp!

1. Hard To Imagine - Washington DC
2. All Night - Hartford
3. Hail, Hail - Boston I
4. Comatose - Boston I
5. Given To Fly - Boston I
6. Who You Are - Washington DC
7. Education - Columbia
8. Even Flow - Washington DC
9. Big Wave - Hartford
10. Evacuation - Virginia Beach
11. Black - Washington DC
12. Porch - Columbia
13. W.M.A. - New York City II
14. Better Man - Virginia Beach
15. Black Diamond - New York City II
16. Alive - Virginia Beach

These boots are still for sale, so I haven't posted a link to download the mix - however, if your interest has been piqued, feel free to drop me a line for further info on the mix if you so wish.

Spencer.

Why not just listen to Live On Two Legs?

Think of this as LOTL, the 2008 edition.

In fact, that would've been a far easier way to explain this - much better than the drunken ramble above (too much red wine).

Cheers fellas!

I dunno, I'm kinda off the idea of jumping back into another right away, but I'm glad you liked this one.

Do you think I'd incur the wrath of the powers that be if I put this up on the Demon?

The powers that be at this forum have nothing to do with demon. And the powers that be within the Pearl Jam camp haven't stopped other things from showing up there.

Oh, I definitely meant the official heavies, not this ramshackle bunch.

Michael's 2009 comp has stayed up, so I guess it's probably not too much of an issue - I'll wait til the Oz/NZ comp is done (editing now) and then put both up.

I don't know how you guys make these compilations. I'd find it way too hard to choose tracks, as a rule.

Alright, Oz/NZ is pretty much done, just need to give it a final listen in the car today and will upload both it and the '08 mix to Demonoid if it passes muster.

I tried to be as objective as possible, but there's a fair bit of Adelaide on there (the high points of Adelaide are really damn good, I couldn't avoid it). Much more Ten-heavy than I'd usually do, but they really pulled out some stellar versions of that stuff.

I tried uploading my 2003 comp for a few board members and It never made it up there, but everytime I try to put it up, it says that it has already been uploaded? Go figure. Hope this gets up. Ten heavy? you sellout!
