A psychological thriller set in the world of New York City ballet, BLACK SWAN stars Natalie Portman as Nina, a featured dancer who finds herself locked in a web of competitive intrigue with a new rival at the company (Mila Kunis). A Fox Searchlight Pictures release by visionary director Darren Aronofsky (THE WRESTLER), BLACK SWAN takes a thrilling and at times terrifying journey through the psyche of a young ballerina whose starring role as the duplicitous swan queen turns out to be a part for which she becomes frighteningly perfect.

I'll go to see this just for the Kunis/Portman sex.

That was a pretty terrible trailer, IMO, but I'm down with this movie regardless. Aronofsky is one of the best directors working today, even if he is already over 40.

This thing has been on my radar since I watched them filming in my hood. Very excited to see it. But, I still haven't seen the trailer. Maybe that will change my mind.

Yeah, this looks amazing. Based on the trailer alone... I'm going to predict that this will be my favorite film of the year.

And, you know, bird people.

Also, I think this looks infinitely better than Showgirls. Also, I don't know if I see the resemblance. Also, I've only seen Showgirls once and it was along time ago. Also, I wasn't really paying attention to the whole movie, if you catch my meanin'.

Looks a bit like Perfect Blue (thematically), which Aronofsky actually bought the rights to so he could copy a scene for Requiem.

it feels good to scream.

primal screaming can be euphoric.

getting out in the wilderness and screaming is very centering.

IT'S LIKE SHOWGIRLS BECAUSE THEY'RE MOVIES ABOUT DANCERS. SO IT'S OBVIOUSLY THE EXACT SAME MOVIE.

Here are 5 plot quotes 3 Black Swan, 2 Showgirls. without cheating pick them out....

...As the two dancers expand their rivalry into a twisted friendship...
...that hones in on the relationship between a veteran dancer her new rival...
...to become a dancer and soon sets about clawing and pushing her way to becoming...
...a girl with the drive to devour...
...and her soul are put to the test as she works her way...

I watched the trailer for this last night. looks real good.

Excited that Arofonsky is getting back into headier territory with this after The Wrestler.

still have yet to see The Fountain. I've heard mixed things.

Watching it again on cable recently, I was less impressed. I'd really, really love to see a criterion edition to get experience out of it.

It's not a perfect movie by any means, but it definitely "went for it" in a way that few movies have recently, and I admire that.
