3- Batman Returns
2- Batman Begins
1- The Dark Knight

I recently re-watched the two Burton films and was struck by how much better "Batman Returns" was than the first. I loved the winter-y feel to it, the characterization of the Penguin, the Roach subplot-- a genuine Dickensian nightmare. Catwoman's "origin" story was a little heavy-handed but Michelle Pfeiffer's performance more than made up for it. A really fun movie, a lot better than I remembered it.

I have not watched the 1960s movie, nor any of the animated flicks.

I agree with your ranking, and I might actually put Mask of the Phantasm 3rd or 4th, I remember it being pretty damn good.

I actually felt the opposite towards Batman Returns upon seeing it again a while back. When it first came out, I thought it was pretty good. Now it just looks cheesy with the overblown sets and campy henchmen costumes. Sure, the Schumacher movies suck in comparison, but Burton's second movie wasn't nearly as good as his first one.

6. Batman & Robin
5. Batman Returns
4. Batman Forever
3. Batman
2. Batman Begins
1. The Dark Knight

I don't understand. If the Schumacher movies suck in comparison to Batman Returns, why do you have one of them ranked above it?

Christopher Walken really is badass.

Seriously, the last 20 minutes of that movie are pretty intense.

It's the only Tim Burton movie I like besides Ed Wood.

I'm pretty sure Bruce Wayne was a virgin at the start of Burton's "Batman", 'cause after he first sleeps with Vicky Vale he has this dorky fucking "what the heck was that" look on his face

You also have to remember that Kim Basinger has a Chyna penis.

watch batman returns after watching begins or TDK. It's shit.

Devito & PFPFPFPFifffffier overact the entire movie, the sets are a joke, the henchmen are cartoons, and the story was boring. Walken was the only bright spot.
People remember liking returns becasue it wan't unwatchable.
