There's an Indian place across town that serves a wide variety of dishes. My first trip there, one of the things I tried was the Chicken Vindaloo.
bart is correct.
Many people I know wonder why I enjoy "ruined" food (i.e., food that is somewhat, um, spicy -- dishes where "all you can taste is the heat" -- something I don't quite understand). Such dishes turn eating from a survival necessity to an event, a sensory joy.

I'm with you...I love hot as hell food; sensory job is a good description. When I go to the grocery store, I load up on Jalepenos, Habenaros, and other chili peppers (Hatch, New Mexico roasted chilis are amazing). I'm also a big fan of hot sauce, and lots of cayenne pepper.
