In the last two days I've had to email a professor of mine twice. The reply to the first one (a submission of a paper) was "Thanks. It's a real pleasure having you in class". The reply to the second one (another paper hand in) was "Thanks, buddy".
I've only ever spoken up once in class to ask a question.

You don't have to "take it", it's a whole lot of nothing.

I have a feeling of deja vu here. Have we had a similar conversation about this guy before?

The prof's second response is not entirely professional, however, I would just ignore it. You emailed what you had to, and now you can leave it.
