By the time PJ got to Europe in 2006, they were playing with a kind of well-oiled technical precision that I haven't heard since. Most of these tracks are from Europe and Australia (the run of gigs in Italy felt particularly inspired), but there are a few exceptions. Most notable to me are the note-perfect versions of "Tremor Christ" and "Breath," two of the most frequently mutilated songs in the the PJ canon.

1. Inside Job--Barcelona, 9-1
2. Severed Hand--Pistoia, 9-20
3. World Wide Suicide--Adelaide, 11-22
4. Marker in the Sand--Paris, 9-11
5. Man of the Hour--Milan, 9-17
6. Tremor Christ--Torino, 9-19
7. Breath--Pistoia, 9-20
8. Sad--Melbourne, 11-16
9. Life Wasted--San Francisco, 7-18
10. Parachutes--Torino, 9-19
11. Unemployable--Honolulu, 12-2
12. Big Wave--Perth, 11-25
13. Waiting on a Friend--Santa Barbara, 7-13
14. Thin Air--Zagreb, 9-26
15. Sleight of Hand--Bern, 9-13
16. Kick Out the Jams--Detroit, 5-22

Another nice comp!

I agree, the European and Australian legs of the 2006 tour are the best they've sounded this side of 2003. Amazing shows.

And I still haven't really listened to them.

Question: were there hard copy discs available for the 2006 shows? That tour happened during a two-year or so period where I'd inadvertently drifted away from PJ, and by the time I'd come back around to them their official website had discontinued them. Have never been able to locate any on eBay.

Thanks for the info. Makes me feel better about the big gap on my shelf between 2003 and 2008 filled solely by the Gorge box.

They included a PDF file of show artwork for each gig that you could print out, that was pretty cool.

I never got around to making any up, but those I saw of people who did looked really cool.
