I've been throwing a tailgate party at Husky home games for the past 7-8 seasons. Usually it's a shitload of beer and we grill up hot dogs...sometimes order pizza, etc. The food really isn't the focus...just keep the beer cold and people are happy.

Give or take we usually get about 100 people at the tailgate...some regulars, some drop-by's that change from week to week.

This past Saturday our 20 cases of beer were gone by halftime and throughout the whole day, only about 10 hot dogs got eaten. Probably should have eschewed the food in favor of a few more cases.

Other people go seriously gourmet with their food spread at UW games. We don't do that because it's a total waste and it looks like a bomb went off at the end of the game - no use in trying to serve nice food.

Interested in what other people around the country do though...

Food is never the focus at Indiana University. I remember three years ago after IU beat Purdue for the Old Oaken Bucket I gathered up all of the empty beer boxes I could find, stuffed them in a trash can and began to light the can on fire. It was too windy and I couldn't get a good flame so some black guys came over with their lighters and helped light/block the wind. It was a wonderful moment in history. Blacks and whites came together for one common goal. Martin Luther King would have been proud.

dogs and burgers are standard for tailgating. throw in some potato chips and doritos, and you are good to go. if you wanna get fancy you can bring some marinated chicken and pasta/potato salad.

drinks used to be top priority, but as ive gotten older food has climbed the priority ladder. still, beer, captain morgan, diet coke and a bottle of jager are pretty standard.

the only other things you need are baggo/washers, a football and a hackey sack.

We used to do burgers, dogs, and chicken breasts.

I got a friend at UNC that works for Boar's Head, so they always have a SERIOUS meat selection.

I would say as a younger man beer was the only thing i cared about and although it is still very important i like to have some food too.

Last weekend we did Teryoki Chicken Kabobs (with red pepper, onion, and tomatoes in betweeen the chicken) as well as some Shrimp kabobs on the grill.

We also had an assortment of chips/dips:
-Corn/Black Bean Dip
-Homemade Guacamole
-A Mexican dip (just a packet of taco seasoning sauce & sour cream mixed, then you spread grated cheese and jalopea slices on top of it)
-some kind of cheese dip that I had no clue what it was but it was tastey

I'm looking forward to grilling beer brats and wings things weekend. I typically handle the meat and let others bring sides and dips etc.

When it gets cooler a chili will have to be made for one of the tailgates :)

God I love tailgating :D

its the same format each weak, man. Don't mess with a winning formula like Brett Favre and Donald Driver.

as for actual tailgating, i usually just get a case of beast or beast ice.. 10 bucks to drink all day.. cant beat it..

food we either bring a grill and burgers or make up some hoagies at my buddies bar and eat that.. the last show i was at was a kings of leon one in scranton.. the food situation was great because before it we were at a catered bday party and they pretty much let us take all the remaining food to the show
