I put on Immagine in Cornice whilst my babies were napping and I was folding laundry yesterday. They look and sound so good. Sometimes I forget just how incredible they are. Then I put on Habit from Boston 3 and DAMN, that isn't even one of my favorite songs and they are just killing it.

This is my longest break of not seeing them since 2000-2003. Last show was Hartford 2008. I want to see them again and I want to see these new songs live. Play Raleigh or Atlanta already!!

In the mean time it was refreshing to be reminded how incredible this band is.

I love taking a break from the band for a little bit then falling in love all over again. Good to hear Hatfield.

that's why new album time is my favorite time. you take a break and then the affair starts up all over again with the usual Billboard article about what's to come.

I had a pretty long hiatus from 2005 until the release of the Gorge set, which kinda propelled me back into superfandom. I don't think I ever enjoyed PJ more than I did in summer 2007, and I've been a fan since 1995.

I'm fairly certain it was always slated for 2011.

20th anniversary in 2012? Who's saying what now?

I think the original intention might have been for the film to come out in 2010, but everything I've read semi-recently refers to it coming out in 2011.

I kind of keep forgetting there's a documentary coming, I really wonder what the hell it's going to be like. We'll probably see small portions of incredibly cool stuff (pro-shot footage from years past, etc.) and be even more frustrated at what we know that they've got but aren't releasing. They'll also probably make no reference to Dave A, as if he made no contribution in that period at all. Blergh.

i just hope it wasnt as uninteresting as Immagine was. i really couldnt care less about Mike's tattoos or watching Jeff skateboard. that DVD made them look so vapid. maybe they are.

Really? I liked that DVD a bunch. What else do you expect them to be doing?

Exactly. As a band you have to keep the mystery alive. The more you talk about skating and politics, anything really, the harder it is to maintain your charisma. Fans want to idealize their stars, because the music allows them to transcend this hard world and touch heaven. This is a fragile thing, and overexposure destroys it.

Personally, that sort of hero worship is something that I have no problem in seeing destroyed.

i was just hoping for some insight into their musical process or something they felt strongly about are something. i agreed with that one review that said they didnt really reveal anything in it. like they were pretty uncomfortable being around the camera.

Im sure Stone and Matt would have been a lot more interesting. well maybe not. Stone would probably say some shit about how Parachutes would fit perfectly in a Prious commercial or something. never mind.

but yeah its probably better for me to just keep my heroes mysterious from now on.

Yeah Immagine was kind of lame.

I don't know, I'd love for the band to sound like they did in 2006 again. They were incredibly tight by the latter half of the tour - they've yet to sound that good again since.

Sure, I'd love them to go back to sounding like they did in 1998 and 2000, but failing that, I'll happily take 2006 over how they've sounded on the last few tours.

I thought it's by far the nicest looking live document of the band too, much better than Touring Band 2000 or Live at the Garden.

I haven't heard the second half shows from the 06 tour but from what I heard on the first half a lot of songs were played way too fast. Also, I've never seen that DVD.

To me it still hurts everytime I see Eddie making a fool of himself. You can be weak, live in a state of shame, be disgusting and so on. But do not talk about things you are not an expert on in public. I dont want him to be a hero, just someone who is awesome becuz he writes great songs and sings like a God.

Immagine is pretty terrible on the performance front. Its a shame you cant get dvd players to play about half speed. The footage of them offstage was cool and well shot, but I dont watch it for the songs really. Touring band and single video theory..now if they could somehow combine the best elements of those two, thatd be something worth having. Live at the garden doesnt really exist for me at all.
