I watched it to see what all the hype was about. I dunno, not mindblowing but I'll tune in next week to see what that shit at the end of the first episode was all about.

I did groan a little at the African American POTUS with the Latin last name. Does that make me racist?

The show has potential, but it will probably fall flat on its face. I have a feeling this will be the FlashForward of 2010-2011.

Yeah, the first episode was blah and the special effects were terrible (the airplane gave me lulz).....I'll give it 4-5 episodes, though.

I know you have to suspend logic when watching these shows, but there's no way an SUV can drive that close to an airplane when it's about to take off.

The bigger problem is the characters...even after the pilot episode of Lost, the audience was engaged and cared about several of the key characters right off the bat...that's not the case in "The Event" ....these characters are pretty blah.

This show is far from good, and it's sorta sad that it takes itself so seriously. I'll check back next week to learn some more about aliens and then I'll probably never watch it again.

They couldn't make the show any less interesting. The only real good part last night was when the alien dude pulled the tube out of his arm.

So did NBC learn anything from ABC and FlashForward?

is this extremely way worse than FlashForward?

I tried to watch this but it feels like a forced combination of FlashForward and V.

I find Jason Ritter to be rather annoying. And he seems to have the special power of getting out of a hospital gown and back into his normal clothes with the blink of an eye!

Ha! I noticed that too. That, and the fact that he is wanted for a murder that took place on a cruise ship that had no record of him as a passenger.

I thought the 1st episode was pretty decent.... The second one was pretty lame.

He's supposed to be of Cuban heritage, right? Why can't he be black with a Latin last name?

Of course, it could happen in any number of countries. His heritage will probably factor into the plot somehow. I just groan because the target audience is really obvious.
