im just wondering, i personaly think its kind of stupid to vote for a certain party instead of the person and their issues, but thats another story. im just basicly wondering what being a registered republican or democrat do for that person if anything.
thanks for any thoughts

I'm registered Independent.

I think in AZ, independents actually get to choose a primary to vote in. Or so that's what I've been told.

In Idaho, you don't have to be a registered anything to vote in the primaries. The only requirement, of course, is that you can only vote within one party per primary.

In 2000 I voted in the Republican primary but this year I voted in the Democratic primary.

In Utah, you have to be a registered republican to vote in that primary. This was the first time they tried that in a presidential race, and the already low turnout got even lower, and a lot of folks complained.

I'm a registered independent, and I voted for Edwards in our Democratic Primary this year.

Some states require you to be registered to vote in a primary. Some will let Republicans vote in Democratic primaries.

And then they are caucuses. I'm unaffiliated in NC, and couldn't vote for a Democratic nominee b/c NC uses caucuses. Of course, by the time that happened, everyone but Kerry had dropped out. NC bites.

In SC you don't have to be registered to a certain party to vote in the primaries. I'm not devoting myself to any party, the whole concept is BS.
Any group, no matter how good their intention were, will probably turn corrupt once enough power is gained.
