to me this album rises to a new level when played live (especially 1/2 Full), maybe more so than any other album. im pretty excited to hear anything on it at a show, and not because of the rarity. some like Ed's voice or the overall sound of the studio, but not me really. so lets hear it.

1/2 full is really the only riot act song I think gets better live than on the record (but it REALLY improves). I'm not sure i have a favorite version though
I take it back--Bushleaguer is better to. Again, no particular favorite.

i had a live mix of Riot Act for awhile, but i dont think it survived the move. after listening to it over and over, i couldnt go back to the album. i think green Disease and You Are go from ok songs on the album, to awesome live, especially You Are. i think the Your from MSG this year was pretty great.

Yeah, this sucks.
And when they do pull something out like Ghost or Cropduster in Philly, it sounds terrible because it's obvious they haven't really rehearsed it at all.
Why do the band hate Binaural and Riot Act so much? Ugh.

All or None from Croatia in 2006 is amazing. Also, most of the Riot Act songs from LA1, Little Rock, Council Bluffs and Vegas were really, really good, too. I only saw Help Help twice-Adelaide and Kansas-I can't remember which was better. I'm gonna guess Kansas, coz Adelaide was the first time it was ever played live.

Cropduster from Sydney 3 is perfect. It doesn't get any better, trust me.
The band had a lot of trouble with Get Right - the Uniondale version is near perfect - but Mike goes into la-la land at the end. You can fix this by snipping on a different ending, like from Kansas City for example. Otherwise I don't think there are any "complete" versions that cut the mustard.
The WPB version of Save You is worth mentioning, with Stone going off at the end.
Help Help from Hershey is also very good.
For Green Disease I would go with a version from '06 or later, when Eddie stopped playing guitar in the verses (it sounds a lot less sloppy that way).

This thread makes me want to go back and listen to Riot Act now.

PJ was still finding their groove during those Japan shows, but you could hear a pin drop during a lot of those quieter numbers. Very reverential crowds--even if a little of the energy is lost on the more raucous tunes, on songs like "Thumbing My Way" it really seemed to afford the guys a little concentration that they might not get in a big arena. They should head back to Japan and record another "Benaroya" type album.
