I really thought this problem would stop when NC banned smoking in restaurants, but it persists. Nothing fucks up the taste of food more than smoke in the air. If I'm inside a restaurant, it's all good, b/c no one's allowed to smoke in there, but here in NC, there is a lot of outdoor dining. It never fails that someone lights up near the area when I'm eating and their smoke wafts in.
I think if a restaurant gives a shit about how their food tastes, they should keep smokers away from their diners altogether. If a smoker wants everything they eat to taste like shit, whatever, but if they ruin the experience for everyone else, it can only hurt the restaurant owner.

Quitting has not chaged how food tastes at all.
You're lying. Smelling smoke changes how food tastes. Having it in your mouth has to kill all taste.

I watch a bunch of cooking shows, and it seems like the majority of the "chefs" smoke. Kinda odd, since it's supposed to affect your taste buds...Does this apply to weed too?

I thought chefs did coke.

I'm sure they do all sorts of drugs. I've worked in a few different restaurants, and it seems like the whole staff smoked (cigs and weed), did coke, and partied quite hard most of the time.

This is true. I saw a Hell's Kitchen not to long ago, and he got pissed at a few of them for smoking. Seems like every season, the "chefs" all smoke, and even on Top Chef, a lot of them smoke.
