Spoiler: show
1 song from each studio release (Ten --> Backspacer, including Lost Dogs): 10 Tracks (only one from Lost Dogs despite it being 2 discs)
1 cover, studio or live, full-band or Ed solo (or some combination of the two, provided that it happened at a Pearl Jam show. So Ed solo pre-set or whatever is fine, but his solo tours are not): 1 song
1 live song (full-band PJ originals only/cannot be a song already chosen from the studio work): 1 song
3 songs from soundtracks, singles, fan club records or rarities; or you can pick another song from Lost Dogs (side projects like Into The Wild, Mad Season and TOTD don't count): 3 songs
1 wild card (any PJ song ever played or recorded, studio or live,): 1 song

Wildcard MUST be a Pearl Jam song. No side projects, solo work, or covers.

Players can sequence the tracks however they see fit; voting should be based on the flow of the mix, the mix's theme, originality and the sequencing.

Because of the size of Pearl Jam's catalogue, we'll give each captain at least 2 full days to come up with their mix once everyone that's interested has signed up. Do not, I repeat, do not post your mix tracklisting here; simply PM it to me or Stip. We're doing it this way because we don't want the later entries copying off of earlier entries and their strategy. Originality in your mix plays a big part, which is why we're keeping everything anonymous.

Good luck to all. Any questions about the tourney can be asked here as long as you're not giving anything away about your team. If you think you might do so by posting it here, simply PM me and I'll respond as quickly as possible.

You'll be voting for the mixes blind without knowing who made them. Players will pm their list to me and I will post the matchups without revealing who the mix belongs to. This ensures that people are voting for the mix and not the player.

Mixes are due Monday, November 15th and once we get there I will post the voting schedule. Most tournaments I've run I didn't have prescribed windows of when voting is open for each round, but for this one I will so you will know exactly when a round will close.

Live versions or studio? And do we actually make the mix and send it to everyone? Or post it for download? Is it okay to use anything less than FLAC?

Anyway, I'd play unless something came up and I couldn't.

I'm going to use the same guidelines that we used for the first one. All we'll be voting on is track listing. If people want to make the mixes using their own collection to see how they sound they certainly can:

GUIDELINES MOVED TO FIRST POST IN THREAD

Live versions or studio? And do we actually make the mix and send it to everyone? Or post it for download? Is it okay to use anything less than FLAC?

Anyway, I'd play unless something came up and I couldn't.

I'm going to use the same guidelines that we used for the first one. All we'll be voting on is track listing. If people want to make the mixes using their own collection to see how they sound they certainly can:

1 song from each studio release (Ten --> Backspacer, including Lost Dogs): 10 or 11 tracks depending on if we allow one from each disc of LD or just one from LD as a whole
1 cover, studio or live, full-band or Ed solo: 1 song
1 live song (full-band PJ originals only/cannot be a song already chosen from the studio work): 1 song
3 songs from soundtracks, singles, fan club records or rarities (must be full-band or just Ed; side projects like Mad Season and TOTD don't count): 3 songs
1 wild card (any PJ song ever played or recorded, studio or live): 1 song

The captain of the team/mix CD can sequence the tracks however they see fit; voting should be based on the flow of the mix, the mix's theme, originality and the sequencing.

Originality in your mix plays a big part, which is why we're keeping everything anonymous until it's time to begin voting.

Good luck to all. Any questions about the tourney can be asked here as long as you're not giving anything away about your team. If you think you might do so by posting it here, simply PM me and I'll respond as quickly as possible.

So wait, do we actually build and upload the list or just post the tracklisting

All you do is post the tracklisting.

I would vote for 1 song from LD, but allow other LD stuff to be included in the b-sides/soundtrack portion.

That is an excellent suggestion.
